Lithium Battery price drop

Lithium Battery price drop.  I have added another link for the next seller until this item is restocked, This seller is AMAZON’s choice with 5 year warranty. Link at bottom of page

I keep seeing prices drop for lithium batteries. This is a new low price for a LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Battery at 100-amp hours with BMS.  So how do you know you are getting what you pay for? It is difficult. This Lithium battery offers a four-year warranty for 39.99 and an auto accessory warranty for 32.44.  It is sold on Amazon for 299.00. This is an unbelievable price for a lithium iron phosphate deep cycle battery.

  • Deep Cycle Battery: Our LiFePO4 battery provides 2000+ cycles compared to 300-500 cycles in a lead acid battery. The service life of a LiFePO4 battery is 8 to 10 times longer than the standard lead-acid battery. The weight of the lithium iron phosphate battery is 30% lighter than the lead-acid battery of the same capacity. This battery does not experience Memory effect – Wikipedia, no matter what state the battery is in, it can be used as soon as it is charged.
  • BMS Complete Protection: This LiFePO4 Battery has a Built-In BMS (Battery Management System) to perform cell balancing and to protect the battery from overcharge, over-discharge, overload, overheating, low discharge rate and short circuiting. LiFePO4 Batteries are safer than lead acid or AGM batteries, avoiding fire and explosion accident.
  • ABS Case & Waterproof: ANOWONA LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Batteries come with an ABS plastic case, providing excellent impact resistance, toughness and stability. 12V 6Ah battery adopts IP56 waterproof craftsmanship, preventing it from leakage, dust and water.

Lithium Iron Technology:

The ANOWONA deep cycle lithium-ion battery has a higher energy density, it is more stable, adding performance and greater power. This LiFepo4 battery will not burn out when overcharged, over discharged, overcurrent or short circuit, and can withstand high temperatures without decomposition. It can support fast charging and solar panel charging. Our LiFepo4 battery is a green battery, it does not contain any heavy metals and rare metals and is more environmentally friendly.

The maximum charge rate for this battery is rated at 50 amps. The maker’s name is ANOWONA. I know nothing about ANOWONA. I only know they are selling on Amazon. I would encourage everyone to purchase a warranty. I plan to purchase both warranties. Clicking the link will take you to the site. Best wishes.

Portable Gas Generator BAN

Portable Gas Generator Ban has passed in California.

Will it be illegal to run your portable generator at a campsite? Will you be able to own a portable generator at your place of residence?  The California Air Resource Board (CARB) was considering a regulation to ban small off-road engines, which included portable gas generators used by RVs (recreational vehicles).

California became the first state to outlaw the sale of single-engine off-road equipment (SORE). This law included lawnmowers and leaf blowers.

How does it affect portable generators?  Any gas-powered generator under 25 horsepower, which is most portable generators, will be part of the ban.

This does not affect stationary generators.

You may use a generator during a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).

Permits may be required to allow you to use a back-up generator. Again, CARB regulations allows you use a generator during PSPS. The proposed law to ban portable gas-powered engines has passed in California. This will affect portable gas generators in 2028. It seems to ban the sale of portable gas generators and finally the use of portable generators in 2028.

The intention would indicate that ZEE generators (with zero emissions equipment) would replace portable gas generators. Many RVers rely on portable gas generators to boondock.  They use them when a hook-up is not available. Also, portable generators have served a crucial role during natural disasters and major power outages.

This post will be updated to any changes or any exemptions that may occur.

Thank you for reading this blog, I hope you will share it.

So far this law will affect:

  • lawnmowers
  • weed trimmers
  • chainsaws
  • golf carts
  • specialty vehicles
  • generators
  • pumps

What is does not affect:

  • on road motor vehicles
  • off road motorcycles
  • all-terrain vehicles (ATVs)
  • boats
  • snowmobiles
  • model airplanes, car or boats (I believe RC hobby)

The goal is to transition to 100 percent zero-emission off-road vehicles and equipment by 2035.

During the summer months it became too hot for the borax to crystalize.  So, the work was moved to the Amargosa Borax Plant near Tecopa, California.

The Twenty mule team consisted of eighteen mules and two horses attached to these wagons.  They travelled across the Mohave Desert traveling 165 miles to the nearest railroad.  They could pull nine metric tons of Borax

The 20-mule team has become a symbol for the Borax Industry.

The Harmony Borax Works trail is .4 mile long. It is a loop, so you do not have to walk back. Very easy trail. During my visit it was so peaceful, the silence was deafening. Since Death Valley is designated a dark sky park, this is an excellent location to stargaze.

Trona

Visiting Trona Pinnacles is other worldly.  It is one of my favorite places to visit.  I decided to let the pictures speak for themselves. The trip is a few hours out of Los Angeles. Once you get to Ridgecrest fill your gas tank and get anything you might need according to your length of stay.  From Ridgecrest it is another 20 minutes to the beginning of the dirt trail in.

It can take another 20- 40 minutes on 7 miles of dirt road.  Fair warning, this road is a bit daunting.  However, it can be managed by regular vehicles with good tires (regular tread).  I’ve seen many cars make it in, but you cannot traverse to the very back of Trona Pinnacles without a 4×4 vehicle.  You don’t need to though, because the very large Pinnacles are in front as you arrive at this geological feature.

The Trona Pinnacles are off the 178, then south on Trona Rd

Trona Pinnacles

Types of Tufas

Towers: rise to about 40 feet and are taller than are wide.

Tombstones: stubby and rise to about 30 feet

Ridges: massive and toothy, these tufa ridges rise to 140 feet and are 500 feet wide and 80 feet long.

Cones: small, less than 10 feet tall, coned shape, considered dumpy.

Camping at Trona Pinnacles

Trona Pinnacles is designated a National Natural Landmark. Dispersed Camping is allowed for a period of 14 days. There is one vaulted toilet. All trash needs to be packed out. There is no potable water. Do not drive off existing roads.
