Before I begin, I want to emphasize the build was driven by cost. That is finding the best deal. How much does it cost to build a solar generator? Buying a solar generator can be costly. Building your own generator allows you to expand the amount of power for substantially less cost. Basically, more power for less money.
Solar generators provide a reusable source of energy using solar panels. Gas generators can provide power as long as you have access to fuel. The point is during a natural disaster, these resources may not be readily available. Once you build your solar generator, you can use sun as a power source. Weather allowing of course.

If you lose phone service, what will you do. Imagine no cable, internet or phone service. Do you have a back-up plan? Communication during an emergency is vital. This is an entry level solution for communication. Currently, the Baofeng UV-5r (暴风影音) runs about 25.00 to 35.00 dollars. During a crisis the price will increase and availability may be limited. First, the Hilipert KF94 type masks are selling fast. WHY? because they are comfortable, with a multi-layer filtration system. 94 refers to the percentage, 94% of particles filtered down to 0.3 microns, reaching the equivalent highest filter rating by the FDA. This mask uses a 4-layer active filtration system.
I went for these quick without realizing the benefit, because they are comfortable. They use elastic ear-loops. Previously, my ears were sore. The KF94 mask(s) features a 3D contour to fit your face comfortably, helping the eyes, protecting your nose, mouth and chin. It helps you to breath by creating a small pocket inside the mask (my opinion). This mask utilizes a wire nose bridge which helps prevent foggy eye-glasses, which can mean your not protected.
Along with the effectiveness of this fish type mask, again it filters down to 0.3 microns. It filters pollutants like allergens, pollen, and smoke, similar to a HEPA filter. You might see people beginning to adopt this mask.

Masks for kids. It matters how a mask fits on your face. This is true for children also. Along with the KF94 is the KN95 mask(s). These masks are considered upgraded masks. The efficiencies proving more effective than cloth masks. If you only have a cloth mask, please wear it. However, if you can upgrade, you are helping yourself. It is interesting that the KN95 is using the KF94 contour-shape.

I keep seeing prices drop for lithium batteries. This is a new low price for a LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Battery at 100-amp hours with BMS. So how do you know you are getting what you pay for? It is difficult. This Lithium battery offers a four-year warranty for 39.99 and an auto accessory warranty for 32.44. It is sold on Amazon for 299.00. Portable Gas Generator BAN
Portable Gas Generator Ban has passed in California.
Will it be illegal to run your portable generator at a campsite? Will you be able to own a portable generator at your place of residence? The California Air Resource Board (CARB) was considering a regulation to ban small off-road engines, which included portable gas generators used by RVs (recreational vehicles).
California became the first state to outlaw the sale of single-engine off-road equipment (SORE). This law included lawnmowers and leaf blowers.
How does it affect portable generators? Any gas-powered generator under 25 horsepower, which is most portable generators, will be part of the ban.
This does not affect stationary generators.
You may use a generator during a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).
Permits may be required to allow you to use a back-up generator. Again, CARB regulations allows you use a generator during PSPS. The proposed law to ban portable gas-powered engines has passed in California. This will affect portable gas generators in 2028. It seems to ban the sale of portable gas generators and finally the use of portable generators in 2028.
The intention would indicate that ZEE generators (with zero emissions equipment) would replace portable gas generators. Many RVers rely on portable gas generators to boondock. They use them when a hook-up is not available. Also, portable generators have served a crucial role during natural disasters and major power outages.
This post will be updated to any changes or any exemptions that may occur.

Harmony Borax Works
The Harmony Borax Works Interpretive Trail is located in Death Valley. At its full operation three tons of borax was produced per day. The Harmony Borax works employed 40 men. To transfer all this borax required a 20-mule team. The operation became famous because of the large mule teams and double wagons.
During the summer months it became too hot for the borax to crystalize. So, the work was moved to the Amargosa Borax Plant near Tecopa, California.
The Twenty mule team consisted of eighteen mules and two horses attached to these wagons. They travelled across the Mohave Desert traveling 165 miles to the nearest railroad. They could pull nine metric tons of Borax
The 20-mule team has become a symbol for the Borax Industry.
The Harmony Borax Works trail is .4 mile long. It is a loop, so you do not have to walk back. Very easy trail. During my visit it was so peaceful, the silence was deafening. Since Death Valley is designated a dark sky park, this is an excellent location to stargaze.

There are several campgrounds located in Furnace Creek, close to the visitor center. Furnace Creek holds the record for the hottest recorded temperature on the earth at 134 f. There is one gas station. The closest restaurant is The Last Kind Words Saloon & Steakhouse with fine reviews. Badwater Saloon and TollRoad Restaurant are in Stovepipe Wells. Also, a few miles south from Furnace Creek is The Oasis at Death Valley
The Oasis and The Inn at Death Valley and Ranch at Death Valley are two unique hotels. Including The Inn Dining Room, Pool Cafe, Ice cream Parlor, and The Ranch Restaurant.

The Furnace Creek Golf Course is the World’s lowest elevation golf course at 214 feet below sea level. It is rated “America’s 50 toughest courses” by Golf Digest.
